In this book, Hebrew scholar Nick Lunn (Christchurch, Canterbury) investigates, through the explicit guidance of the New Testament, the wide variety of ways in which Jesus is represented in the Old Testament. The book provides a thorough overview, beyond anything else available in a non-technical book, and indeed some aspects discussed in this book have never appeared in non-academic titles before. The authors of the New Testament were well versed in the Old Testament, frequently quoting and alluding to it in their writing. That is why, although Jesus Christ is not explicitly mentioned in the Old Testament, in order to understand what the New Testament says about him, we must understand the prophecy, imagery and theology of the Old Testament.
